USDA to allow U.S. to be overrun with contaminated chicken from China

The USDA has announced its intention to allow China-grown chicken meat to be imported into the USA. “The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that China is eligible to export processed, cooked chicken to the United States,” says an official announcement on the USDA website.
The announcement goes on to ridiculously claim that the USDA “has determined that China’s poultry processing inspection system is equivalent to that of the United States, and cooked chicken imported from China would be processed under equivalent conditions as in the United States.”

This statement holds about as much water as Obama’s claim that “you can keep your health plan if you like it.” It’s a lie, in other words, and everybody knows it.

USDA to destroy the domestic poultry industry by selling out to China

It’s also a disastrous policy. If put into action, it will not only further destroy the economic base of U.S. farmers and chicken growers, it will also wildly contaminate the chicken supply across the U.S. with China-grown chicken laced with arsenic, mercury, lead, cadmium and toxic chemicals.

How do we know this? Because China is the most polluted industrial nation in the world, and it routinely and consistently produces the most heavily contaminated food products anywhere on the planet. It has already been caught killing babies with melamine in infant products, killing dogs with toxic dog treats, counterfeiting meat products and far worse. Natural News Forensic Food Lab tests have confirmed that food products produced in China are consistently the most polluted in the world.

We need to get toxic chemicals and heavy metals OUT of the U.S. food supply, not increase their prevalence in our foods. The FDA, after all, just recently pulled approval of the arsenic-based drug Roxarsone from agricultural use, finally eliminating one of the most prominent sources of toxic arsenic in commercial poultry. If the USDA turns arounds and opens up the U.S. food supply to China-grown chicken, we are all suddenly going to be inundated with cheap, contaminated chicken from China that will eventually bankrupt U.S. poultry producers who, believe it or not, actually produce cleaner chicken products.

USDA sticking head in the sand on food contamination epidemic

The problem with the USDA is that it pretends food is never contaminated with heavy metals. That’s why the USDA “organic” certification program utterly ignores the presence of mercury, cadmium, arsenic and lead in organic foods. Any food can contain unlimited quantities of these toxic elements and still be certified “organic” under the USDA.
Will contaminated chicken produced in China also be certified organic and sold at retailers like Whole Foods even though it might contain deadly concentrations of mercury or lead? That’s the path the USDA sems to be laying out for America under its absurd “equivalence” policy.
And then there’s the animal welfare angle. Although poultry production in the USA is far from what most people would consider “humane,” the factory farming operations in China are nothing short of abhorrent. If you thought chickens were abused in domestic poultry operation, just wait until you see secret video one day of the disgusting and cruel chicken production operations in China.

You have to remember: China is a nation that has outlawed all religion, and with that has come the complete abandonment of any sense of wrong vs. right. China is a nation where the mistreatment of animals is not merely widespread but actually embraced by the culture. All across China, virtually all animals are assumed to have no feelings, no experience, no consciousness, no feelings of pain and so on. Thus, Chinese culture sees nothing wrong whatsoever with subjecting animals to extreme confinement or raising them under conditions that are outrageously cruel and painful to the animals.
If the USDA opens up the U.S. chicken market to poultry from China, it will unleash a wave of new animal cruelty and food contamination, all while destroying the U.S. economic activity currently association with domestic chicken production.

Chickens deserve better than to be raised under inhumane Chinese factory conditions

For the record, I raise chickens on a ranch in Texas. This means I have daily interactions with chickens, and I can attest without hesitation that although chickens are by no means highly intelligent creatures, they do have memories, experiences and even personalities. Chickens are not simply mechanical mindless biological robots. Like other animals, they have awareness, they engage in simple decision-making, they can experience fear, joy and a long list of other emotional states.

It is for these reasons that I don’t eat the chickens I raise. I only harvest their eggs, not their flesh. On the rare occasions when I do eat meat of any kind, I make sure it comes from truly free-range animals who — unlike confined animals mass-produced in meat factories — at least got to experience something resembling a pleasant existence before being slaughtered. In my mind, this is important because what we eat determines the experiences of other conscious creatures. When we buy low-cost meat, we are voting for animal cruelty. When we instead choose truly free-range meats, we are voting for the more humane treatment of animals. And when we choose to eat more plants and less meat, we thereby spare many animals from the experience of being slaughtered altogether.

The USDA seems to have no recognition whatsoever that animals are conscious beings with memories, social lives, experiences and goal-oriented behavior. The agency simply pretends that “all animals are mindless animated matter” and every USDA policy and regulation flows from that delusion.

Why does the USDA embrace this delusion? Because, of course, the myth that animals are not conscious beings just happens to fit nicely with the profit motives of the meat-producing industries. And the USDA caters to the interests of those industries. In fact, the USDA is best described as the “marketing branch” of U.S. agricultural giants. That’s why the USDA is pro-Monsanto and has actually conspired with the chemical company to run open-air GMO experiments. It’s why there are no limits of heavy metals contamination for certified organic foods. It’s also why the USDA is now looking to allow chicken to be imported from China — because big business interests stand to make a fortune by mass-producing cheap, low-grade contaminated chicken meat which can be used in the U.S. marketplace as school food, prison food or even factory processed into chicken nuggets, dog food or other high-protein foods.

Billions to be made from poisoning Americans with low-grade contaminated food grown in China

Remember: There’s always more money to be made from low-grade contaminated food produced in a way that utterly lacks any enforceable environmental standards, ethical standards, health standards or nutritional standards. In a nutshell, that’s China!

Essentially, what the USDA is saying with this potential policy is that the American people should be fed worse than dogs. I wouldn’t even feed my dog chicken meat from China, much less a fellow human being. Laboratory tests of chicken produced in China are likely to show alarming levels of contaminants, toxic elements, banned pesticides and toxic synthetic chemicals. Is this what the USDA wants Americans to be eating?

Well why not? The USDA already wants Americans to eat deadly GMOs that burn holes in stomach linings and may even cause toxic transgenic effects in humans. Why stop at merely one threshold of mad Frankensteinian food experimentation on the American people? Why not go all the way and allow the importation of Made-in-China Soylent Green produced from the bodies of former Falun-Gong members whose organs have been harvested for the global elite like Steve Jobs?

Some of you think I’m actually making that up, by the way. I’m not. Organ harvesting is routine in China. And where do you think the “waste bodies” are sent after the organs are taken from them? They are almost certainly processed into animal feed and fed to factory-produced hogs and chickens. So if we start importing chicken meat grown in China, don’t be surprised if what you’re actually eating is second-hand organ harvesting byproduct protein fed to the chickens along with toxic heavy metals, melamine, PCBs, DDT and every other deadly environmental chemical you can imagine.

Lick it up, America! The USDA is under orders to kill you all before you reach the age at which you might collect social security and therefore worsen the national debt. That’s the new plan at the highest levels, no doubt: make sure nobody lives long enough to cost Medicare too much money, or to even figure out how to enroll in Obamacare at Healthcare.gov.

New USDA rule allows Feces, Bacteria and Bleach in Chicken

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is currently in the process of trying to ram through passage of a new "modernization" rule for conventional poultry production that would eliminate a large percentage of USDA inspectors and speed up the factory production process. And existing safeguards, as minimally effective as they currently are, would also be eroded, allowing for more hidden feces, pus, bacteria and chemical contaminants to persist in conventional chicken and turkey meat.

Even though salmonella rates as detected in meat and poultry have been steadily dropping year after year in the U.S., roughly the same numbers of people seem to be getting infected with the pathogen annually. The primary reason for this statistical anomaly appears to be that the current testing methods authorized by the USDA for meat and poultry are wholly inadequate and outdated and actually cover up the presence of contaminants borne on factory farms and in processing plants.

But a whole new set of guidelines being proposed by the USDA will make things even worse by allowing companies to self-inspect themselves, as well as use an even more aggressive barrage of chemicals to treat their tainted meat before selling it to consumers. This is good news for the factory poultry industry, of course, which is expected to cut its costs by about $250 million a year, thanks to its buddies at the USDA, but it's bad news for consumers who will be subjected to all the toxic consequences.

If you have ever seen any of the shocking, undercover footage showing how chickens, turkeys and other animals are treated at factory farms, then you already know the type of filth and abuse to which these poor animals are routinely subjected. Because of their horrific living conditions, factory farm animals are often teeming with harmful pathogens, which is why their meat has to undergo chemical treatments in the first place before being packaged and served on dinner tables -- it is a truly disgusting process, to say the least.

According to documented reports, after the animals are slaughtered, conventional poultry is essentially hung on long conveyor lines and sprayed, bathed and injected with all sorts of chemical solutions, including chlorine bleach, before ultimately being hauled off to the supermarket. These chemical solutions are, of course, carefully designed to kill any bacteria and render the meat "safe" for human consumption, the ultimate "don't ask, don't tell" policy for the factory food industry, if you will.

USDA intends to throw more chemicals, less regulation at poultry industry dilemma

But like all other chemical-based solutions that compliment industrial food production, this process is ultimately failing to subdue and kill pathogens the same way that it used to back in the old days. A cohort of new scientific research recently submitted to the USDA reveals that the routine processes by which the factory food industry covers its frightful tracks are no match to a whole new generation of "superbugs" that resist these chemicals -- and the USDA's proposed solutions only further add to the problem by covering it up with even more chemicals.

"If the new rule is implemented, all chicken will be presumed to be contaminated with feces, pus, scabs, and bile and washed in a chlorine solution," explains ChickenJustice.org. "Consumers will eat chicken with more chemical residue and contaminants. With faster production rates, workers' injuries will increase. They will also face breathing and skin problems from constant exposure to chlorine wash. OSHA will take the next 3 years to study the impact of the faster processing lines on workers, but USDA wants to implement the rule immediately."

The 7 Nastiest Things In Your Supermarket

If you’ve watched the Food Matters or Hungry For Change films, you’ll understand how important it is to read ingredient labels. So often, dubious food labeling regulations mean that many toxic or harmful ingredients are either not declared or are listed as another name!

If you think pink slime is awful, (which it is, of course), and that arsenic in baby food, cereal bars, rice and even chicken is an outrage, here are seven more nasty items lurking in your local supermarket.

Below are 7 of the nastiest ingredients and food items commonly found in supermarkets.

1. Flame-Retardant Sodas

The toxic flame retardant chemical brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, was first used to keep plastics from catching on fire. However, the food industry has been using it in sodas, juices and sports drinks to keep those artificial flavoring chemicals mixed in with the rest of the liquids. You’ll find it in drinks such as Mountain Dew, Fanta Orange, Sunkist Pineapple and Powerade.

BVO has been linked to skins lesions, memory loss, and nerve disorders.

2. Petroleum-Laced Candy

You’ve probably wondered if that candy with those wacky bright colors is good for you. It’s not. Many of the artificial food dyes found in everyday foods, including candy, are made from petroleum-derived materials. Kids love those “fun” colors in their cereal and candy, but food dyes are also used in hundreds of supermarket foods.

They are harmful: orange and purple food dyes have been shown to impair brain function, while other dyes have been linked to ADHD and behavioral problems in kids. Of course, companies don’t care because it’s cheaper for them to use those fake dyes than it is to use real ingredients.

3. Moldy Berries

Here’s a sobering fact: the FDA legally allows up to 60 percent of canned or frozen blackberries and raspberries to contain mold; 15 percent mold is the limit for canned fruit and vegetable juices.

It’s true that it’s perfectly fine to eat some food when it starts to grow mold, but you should toss soft fruits and vegetables, since they may have mold growing below the surface. Also, because mold spreads quickly in fruits and vegetables, check nearby foods in your produce drawer.

4. Salade Verte With Paint Chemicals

Perhaps you didn’t know that your salad dressing may well contain titanium dioxide, which is a component of titanium, a mined substance that is sometimes contaminated with toxic lead.

This chemical is widely used in paints and sunscreens, but Big Food also adds it to lots of things we eat, including processed salad dressing. They do this to to make dingy, overly processed items, like your salad dressing, appear brighter and whiter.

5. Hormone-Heavy Milk

Ah, the wonders of modern technology: today’s cows produce double the amount of milk they did just 40 years ago, and that’s mostly because of a genetically engineered, synthetic hormone called recombinant bovine somatotropin, or rBST, that helps them along.

This synthetic hormone is banned in many other countries because it has been linked to prostate, breast and colon cancers. However, it is still legal here, although many dairies are being pressured to abandon it.

6. Meat Laced With Flesh-Eating Bacteria

Beware the supermarket meat department! Grocery store meats are commonly infused with nasty extras, including staph bacteria, and especially the hard-to-kill, potentially lethal MRSA strain. A study published last year in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases found that half of grocery store meat tested positive for staph bacteria.

MRSA kills about 19,000 people a year in America.

7. Toxic shrimp

Imported shrimp is on the Monterey Bay’s Seafood Watch List as “Avoid” at all costs. Less than two percent of all imported seafood is inspected, which is a huge problem.

As a result, imported shrimp often contains antibiotics, cleaning chemicals used in farmed shrimp pens, residues of toxic pesticides banned in the U.S., and pieces of insects.

Domestic shrimp would be the answer, except that 70 percent of domestic shrimp comes from the Gulf of Mexico, and the recent oil spill has made us all wary of eating that. Instead, try buying shrimp from Texas, the East Coast, Maine and the Carolina’s.

The obvious solution to all these nasty items: avoid processed food, and stick to organic produce as much as possible. Not to mention, if you are buying processed food, always check the ingredients.

10 Disgusting Facts About Fast Food

1. McDonalds Milkshakes use 50 chemicals including ethyl acetate, phenethyl alcohol and a solvent to "imitate" the flavor of a real strawberry.

2. The FDA allows an average of 30 insect fragments, including rodent hair, per 100 grams of peanut butter.

3. Shellac is not only used to improve the shine of wood, it's also used to improve the shine of jelly beans.

4. The FDA allows bacteriophages (a virus that infects and replicates within bacteria) in lunch meat and hot dogs.

5. Chicken "nuggets" use pink paste processed with chemicals and bacteria, washed in ammonia and reflavored with more chemicals before being dyed.

6. Apparently there's a fair amount of hair in processed food (this one seemed a little hype-y to me; even the best of us lose hair while cooking).

7. Each can of coke contains 10 teaspoons of sugar, along with phosphoric acid to enable your body to tolerate that much sugar.

8. Fast food salads contain Propylene Glycerol (lettuce is soaked in a solution of water and P.G. to help keep it crispy).

9. Many fast food chicken items contain beef additives, listed as an "extract or essence," in order to enhance flavor.

10. "Processed" cheese contains 49% of additives, chemicals and flavorings

And a bonus #11: virtually all fast food is packed with GMOs -- primarily from canola oil and corn byproducts."
