Bees Have Been Trained To Sniff Out Cancer in Humans

Portuguese designer Susana Soares has developed a device for detecting cancer and other serious diseases using trained bees. The bees are placed in a glass chamber into which the patient exhales; the bees fly into a smaller secondary chamber if they detect cancer.

Scientists have found that honey bees - Apis mellifera - have an extraordinary sense of smell that is more acute than that of a sniffer dog and can detect airborne molecules in the parts-per-trillion range.

Bees can be trained to detect specific chemical odours, including the biomarkers associated with diseases such as tuberculosis, lung, skin and pancreatic cancer.

The system is definitely not foolproof, but could be used as a low-cost alternative to current early detection methods that require expensive medical machinery. Find out more on Soares’s website

One of the greatest health myths of all time is that a vegan or vegetarian diet does not provide the body with the necessary nutrients it needs to function. This couldn’t be farther for the truth, vegetarian and vegan diets are associated with many health benefits. Vegan diets tend to contain less saturated fat and cholesterol with more dietary fiber. Vegans tend to have lower blood pressure, and have a lesser risk of heart disease. Sure, eliminating meat from your diet can increase the risk of certain nutritional deficiencies, but there are ways to get those nutritional benefits without eating meat, which eliminates the dangers that are associated with meat.

Historically, the primary health value of meat and dairy has been to their protein content. Basically, when it comes down to it there is information on both sides of the argument. Either way, it’s good to make sure your food is completely organic without any added additives or hormones. The main point I’m trying to get across is that you don’t have to eat meat, you can make the choice to be a vegan and be just as or even more healthy.
You wouldn’t ask a gorilla where it gets its protein from, would you? It’s all from a plant based diet.

Use This Herb to Naturally Whiten Teeth

Yes, it's true. The yellow powder that will stain (almost) everything it touches is the secret ingredient in giving you the brightest whitest teeth possible. Yesterday I came across an article on called "Whiten Teeth Safely with Turmeric" and since turmeric is one off my all time favorite culinary/medicinal herbal cross-overs, I was intrigued. We already know that turmeric is a superstar for cooling inflammation and protecting the brain against aging, as well as being a powerful antiseptic and antibacterial agent, so I wouldn't put it past this great herb to do something else miraculously.

As a side note, turmeric has other beautifying properties as well, and can be taken orally or topically as a mask to shrink the pours on the face, and is used by Indian brides before their wedding day for just this reason.

Anyway, using about a half tablespoon dried organic turmeric powder and a bit of water to make a paste, I gave it a go. You do have to be very careful because anything not inside of your mouth that comes in-contact with it will be dyed bright yellow (including the toothbrush). But, as you might have guessed, it works like a miracle to whiten teeth.

Turmeric would also be great for oral hygiene, not just tooth whitening, because it is such a strong anti-inflammatory, which is good for the gums--since 90% of people over the age of 30 have gum disease, and is also a strong antimicrobial, so it kill all those bag germs causing tooth decay and gum disease (and be sure to take your vitamin K2).

Directions: use 1/2 tablespoon dried organic turmeric root (bulk in any health food store), add just a bit of water to make a thin paste. I use a small--real small--cup for this. Scoop it up with the bristles of your toothbrush (which will become irreversibly stained), and brush like normal. Enjoy!

Flu Shot Death? Mother Claims Flu Shot Is Responsible For Teenage Sons Death

Doctors Prohibited From Speaking Out On Death of Teen Caused By Flu Shot

A 19-year old who received a flu shot during a routine physical became violently ill, suffering from vomiting and headaches, eventually slipping into a coma and then succumbing to his injuries. While his mother is claiming that the influenza vaccine is responsible for the death of her son, doctors claim they could not confirm the cause and they are now legally prohibited from speaking about his case.
Chandler Webb received the shot on October 15 during a routine physical, after he had decided to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The day after the exam, Chandler became extremely ill — suffering from vomiting and headaches. A little more than a week later, Chandler slipped into a coma and spent nearly a month on life support at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.
While at the hospital, Chandler underwent a variety tests, but his doctors were not able to ascertain the source of his illness.
Eventually the family made the very difficult decision to remove life support and Chandler died on November 19, 2013, 28 days after his illness began. His mother, Lori Webb, said that his direct cause of death was swelling of the brain — something she believes was the result of an adverse reaction to the influenza vaccination.

Mrs. Webb says this was her son’s first ever flu shot. He had received it the day before he became ill as part of a routine physical in preparation for missionary work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
According to the mother, her son’s death was due to brain swelling. “We’re angry,” she says “because we believe it’s the flu shot that [caused] it.” She refused to have an autopsy performed, however, saying that she believes a brain biopsy will provide the answers that they need. Webb says she believes that experts from outside the state are examining her son’s brain biopsy.
While Chandler Webb was at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, a team of six neurologists did every possible test searching for the cause of his illness, she says, including tests for Lyme disease, the West Nile virus and even sexually transmitted diseases. No cause was found, however.
The Utah Department of Health released a statement on the case last Friday evening (November 22) stating that, “Our epidemiology staff have commented that although they have no evidence of a flu vaccine, or any other kind of vaccine, causing this type of reaction/outcome, they take these reports very seriously and they are thoroughly investigated by the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).”
“What attacked his brain happened so quickly within 15 hours,” Webb said. “From one CT scan to the next, there was so much pressure and swelling on the brain that it crushed his brain stem.”
Tom Hudachko, a spokesman for the Utah Department of Health, said: “Like with other medical procedures, there can be side effects and adverse reactions,” he said. “In the vast majority of those cases the side effects are not very severe — soreness at the injection site, low fever, achiness. Occasionally, yes, there are more severe side effects from receiving the vaccine.”

Webb said before getting the shot, her son was very healthy and had a very positive outlook on life. She maintained she isn’t trying to discourage others from getting the flu shot, but she hopes people will educate themselves about the possible side effects of the vaccine.
“[Chandler] didn’t deserve this,” Webb said on Fox and Friends. “His last words before he crashed into his coma was, ‘Doctors, save me.’”

The Facts About The Flu Shot

The reason Doctors were unlikely able to save Chandler was likely due to the effect of synergistic toxicity in the influenza vaccine formula he received. As I reported earlier this year, Despite Thimerosal (Mercury) Ban Imposed By The FDA, 60 Percent of All Flu Vaccines Still Contain This Deadly Neurotoxin. Some people react far more than others, however any susceptibility to the toxins will inevitably kill those cells.
Factually, Thimerosal is a mercury-containing compound that is a known human carcinogen, mutagen, teratogen and immune-system disruptor at levels below 1 part-per-million, and a compound to which some humans can have an anaphylactic shock reaction. It is also a recognized reproductive and fetal toxin with no established toxicologically safe level of exposure for humans.
In 2009, eight out of ten H1N1 vaccines had thimerosal. Last year’s 2011/2012 flu vaccine season saw three out of five FDA approved vaccines containing thimerosal. The 2012/2013 season offered three out of six flu vaccines which contained thimerosal and all were FDA approved.
This year thimerosal, is now used as a preservative in four (4) out of the seven (7) FDA approved flu vaccines for the 2013/2014 flu season.
Note that for every single flu vaccine, the carcinogenic or mutagenic potential has not been evaluated, or for impairment of fertility. . This means that none of the carcinogenic excipients (inside every vaccine) are ever studied and their effects on the human body are unknown. This declaration also indicates that there is no responsible authority that can state to a parent, that their son or daughter will not become infertile as a consequence of receiving the influenza vaccine.
Another remarkable fact is that although all pregnant women are encouraged to receive the flu vaccine by health and medical authorities, the safety and effectiveness for pregnant women or nursing mothers has also not been established. Perhaps this is why studies show many spontaneous abortions and stillbirths after pregnant women are vaccinated.
100 percent of influenza vaccines are a crap shoot in terms of effectiveness for any given population since they only estimate the probable strains.
With more than 200 viruses known to cause influenza-like illness (ILI), a person can get a flu shot and still become sick with what is described as “the flu”. According to CDC data, in the past 11 years, 86% of all influenza-type illnesses were NOT caused by the influenza virus, thus influenza viruses are ONLY active 14% of the time.
The proportion of ILI caused by influenza viruses varies by year, and even varies within a specific year over the course of the winter.
Therefore, under a hypothetical scenario that influenza vaccines work 25% of the time (which is marginally high percentage for flu vaccine effectiveness), that means the maximum effectiveness of the flu vaccine would be 3.5% on influenza viral strains and nil for ILI.
A recent report which is again being highlighted by the alternative media is a remarkable study published in the Cochrane Library which found no evidence of benefit for influenza vaccinations and also noted that the vast majority of trials were inadequate.

35 Reasons You Should Store Salt

Salt has a lot of surprising uses in a survival scenario. The most common uses of salt are as food flavouring, for food preserving and baking. But here’s 35 more reasons to store salt – and lots of it!

1. Rust remover. Make paste out of 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 6 tablespoons of salt, apply to rusted area with cloth. Rub thoroughly then rinse and dry.
2. Improve coffee flavor. Adding a pinch of salt in your ground coffee before turning the coffeemaker on will reduce the beverage’s acidic taste.
3. Eliminate bad odors. Pour 1/2 cup of salt into the garbage disposal then run it according to manufacturer’s directions. Get rid of fish odor from your hands by rubbing them with a lemon wedge dipped in salt and then rinse with water. For smelly wooden cutting boards, remove the bad odor by gently rubbing a generous amount of salt over the surface using a damp cloth. Wash it with warm, sudsy water afterwards.
4. Salt soothes sore throats. A mild sore throat can be remedied by gargling several times a day with a mixture of 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup warm water.
5. Test egg freshness with salt. Add 2 teaspoonfuls of salt to a cup of water. Put the egg in the cup of water; if it sinks, it is fresh. If it floats, throw it away.
6. Clean greasy pans with salt. Greasy iron pans are no match to salt; simply use a bit of the substance on the greasy surface then wipe with paper towels.
7. Remove coffee or tea stains on cups by rubbing them with salt.
8. Calm that rogue BBQ fire. Sprinkle some salt on flames from food dripping in barbecue grills to minimize the flames and smoke without cooling the coals. Also, throwing salt on a kitchen fire will extinguish it.
9. Remove pinfeathers easily from a chicken by rubbing the chicken skin with salt.
10. Prevent mold on cheese by wrapping it in a cloth dampened with saltwater before putting it in the fridge.

17. Deodorize your canvas shoes by sprinkling it with a little salt occasionally. The salt will reduce moisture and remove bad odor.
18. Relieve bee stings by immediately wetting the stung area and covering it with salt.
19. Discourage ants from invading your home by sprinkling salt in places where ants can sneak in such as doorways and window sills.
20. Clean your teeth with salt. Mix 1 part fine salt with 2 parts baking soda, dip your toothbrush in the mixture and brush your teeth. The baking soda also helps whiten teeth.

33. Make salt soaks that can offer relief in times of duress and bodily pain. Salt soaks can be applied to cramped and aching hands and feet or used as a whole body bath.
34. Reduce boiling time (especially in high altitude) by adding a dash of salt to the water.
35. Sanitize sponges with salt. Sponges can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Remove some of the germs by sudsing up the sponges, rinsing them thoroughly and then soaking them in cold, heavily salted water for up to 2 hours.

Los Angeles Set to Be Largest GMO-Free Zone in USA

International outrage against Monsanto and GMOs by activists and concerned citizens at large is paying off once again. Just days after Mexico announced a complete ban on the growth of GMO corn, Los Angeles lawmakers have now gone on record in setting up Los Angeles to be the largest GMO-free region in the United States. 

Specifically, L.A. politicians are responding to the call for a ban on the cultivation, sale, and even distribution of GMOs at large. In other words, an entirely ‘GMO-free’ zone. 

This would be one of the most powerful pieces of legislation to pass in the fight against Monsanto that has ever been seen — especially in the Monsanto-owned United States, where even the USDA has given Monsanto’s genetically modified creations special ‘speedy approval’ access to their regulation techniques. 

Politicians Forced to Act 

But even despite Monsanto’s tentacles being locked deep inside the political system, we are now seeing politicians who are forced into taking action by their supporters. This appears to be the case with Los Angeles City Councilmen Paul Koretz and Mitch O’Farrell, who are responsible for introducing the motion and subsequently addressing the demands of the population. 

And thanks to activism and the high-powered spread of information on the subject of Monsanto and GMOs, we are seeing this kind of action on a much more frequent basis.

 In fact, the number of politicians now driven to fight against Monsanto in order to retain support is climbing to the point where my prediction of Monsanto’s economic downfall within the next few years may indeed become a reality thanks to enraged voters. 

Just look at how much information is being launched into the mainstream even in major media reports on the Los Angeles initiative, with City Councilman Kortez stating: 

“A growing number of problems are being traced to GMOs,.. the evolution of ‘superbug’ insects which are growing immune to the pesticides engineered within GMO crops” and ”‘seed drift’ (for example the recent finding of GMO-pollinated wheat growing in an Oregon farmer’s field).” 

These are the facts we have been telling you for years, and it is a major victory to see them now reaching millions more around the globe. If Los Angeles is able to push through the GMO ban into city wide regulation, it would be a direct blow to the beast that is Monsanto and the biotech industry at large.

Johnson and Johnson Admits: Their Baby Products Contain Cancer-Causing Formaldehyde

No more tears? I would rather have no more formaldehyde. I just might get my wish. Today, the personal care giant announced that it would voluntarily (after consistent pressure from the public and groups like EWG) remove hidden formaldehyde from their baby products like baby shampoo and baby washes.

Don’t see formaldehyde listed on the back of your bottle of “no more tears” shampoo? Formaldehyde is “hidden” in these products in ingredient names like “DMDM hydantoin“, and “1.4 dioxane” (which is “hidden” in listed ingredients like “fragrance”.

There’s a very lively public discussion going on about the safety of ingredients in personal care products,” said Susan Nettesheim, VP for product stewardship and toxicology for Johnson & Johnson. Lively discussion? If someone was selling you shampoo for your baby that had cancer causing agents hidden in it, I hardly think the discussion with that person would be “lively”. About the known cancer causing (as listed on the US EPA carcinogen list) chemicals, Ms Nettesheim says, ““…as a scientist I will sit here and tell you these things are perfectly safe.” I wonder what shampoo she uses on her kids? To J & J’s credit, they are also going to phase out other harmful chemicals like pthalates and parabens which have estrogen-like properties and are suspected to be linked to hormone related cancers. They plan to phase these chemicals out in their adult brands as well. Johnson & Johnson also operates under squeaky clean names like Neutrogena, Aveno, and Clean & Clear. Monsanto Buys Weather Climate Corporation For 1 Billion Dollars

Agriculture giant Monsanto has announced acquisition of the Climate Corporation, a climate data research company, expecting that its info will help farmers maximize crop yields with fewer resources.

The $930 million cash purchase is set to give the company an upper hand in the quickly expanding field of scientific weather data, something that would put vast amounts of climate information at farmers’ fingertips.

Monsanto said in a press release that the Climate Corporation “has a core set of support tools to benefit farmers. These include products that help them boost yields on existing farmland and better manage risks that occur throughout a crop season.” 

The company added that the merger of crops with big data presented a possible $20-billion profit increase across the entire industry.
Monsanto’s chairman and CEO Hugh Grant said that “the Climate Corporation is focused on unlocking new value for the farm through data science… everyone benefits when farmers are able to produce more with fewer resources.”
Grant’s counterpart, David Friedberg of The Climate Corporation said that farmers today are challenged to make key decisions for their farms “in the face of increasingly volatile weather conditions.” 
“Because of this we believe there is a real opportunity and value in working with farmers to manage the risks that affect them every year,” Friedberg added.
What makes Climate Corporation special is its array of tools for predicting extremely local events with high precision. Those tools, when incorporated with Monsanto’s software, are expected to greatly improve farmers’ work with field maps, soil data and seeds. Being able to use such software on the move gives farmers an added benefit.
Farmers will be able to access FieldScripts – Monsanto’s satellite-based science software – from their mobile devices while sitting in their tractors. Data received from Monsanto then automatically installs the most favorable settings for planting.
At the moment, the trial version of the software is being tested by around 160 US farmers across 40,000 acres of land, according to the Financial Times.
 Other companies aside from Monsanto are also joining the ranks of growers with hi-tech toys. Rival DuPont Pioneer, for example, also has an online hub giving famers instant access to soil, weather and other information – called Field 360. It launched this summer.

And the marriage to big data could be a timely one for Monsanto, as the company has just passed its historically weakest quarter, and done so with a larger loss than forecast. In the three quarters preceding August, the company lost $249 million – exactly 20 million more than the same time last year.
While being an industry leader, Monsanto has been the subject of a great number of lawsuits from farmers and social discontent revolving around its development of genetically-modified seeds, as well as policies that take away from farmers’ pockets.
Jeffrey M. Smith, a GMO researcher from the Institute for Responsible Technology in an interview with RT accused the company of trying to take full control of the world’s seed supply to bolster profits, while hiding the effects of GMO on the ecosystem and human health.
“The world’s experts at feeding the world and eradicating poverty actually have the report, called “I-Stat” sponsored by the UN and the World Health Organization – and it concludes that GMOs in their current form have nothing to offer in feeding the world or eradicating poverty. There has been a promise to get people to try and promote the technology, accept the technology, but it doesn’t in fact even increase average yield, it reduces yield on average, according to independent science,” Smith explained.
In March of this year, the US House of Representatives quietly passed a last-minute addition to the Agricultural Appropriations Bill for 2013 – including a provision protecting genetically modified seeds from litigation in the face of health risks.
However, food safety advocates rejoiced a week ago after the controversial provision was removed from the Senate version of the bill.

4 Powerful Antiviral Herbs and How To use Them

You can simmer slices of the root in water to make a healing decoction, or you can use the commercially-available tincture. It is generally agreed that astragalus should be taken as a preventative rather than once the illness is in full swing, so if you think you’ve been exposed, or you experience the very first twinges of illness, you can start taking astragalus.

3. Garlic

No discussion of antiviral herbs would be complete without mentioning garlic, an herb that is antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. It’s not expensive, and you can use the whole herb or take capsules. However, many experts agree that “deodorized” garlic may not be as effective as the unaltered herb.
You can simmer minced garlic in chicken broth and sip it to stave off colds and flu. Raw, minced garlic can be sprinkled over salads and tossed with pasta. Be careful with consuming too much of it raw, though, as it can cause severe nausea when taken in this form.

4. Ginger

Long ago, ginger was considered a “warming” herb that would prevent nausea from a “chilled stomach,” which was said to occur when large amounts of cold water were consumed in hot weather. We now know that ginger has powerful anti-nausea action, and it is also anti-viral.
Teas made from fresh ginger are palatable and spicy. You can sweeten them with raw honey for added germ-fighting benefits and flavor. When you feel the very first stages of a cold or flu, try drinking some of this tea several times a day. You can even drink it as a preventative if you think you may have been exposed to any viruses. Ginger is considered quite safe, although it is not recommended for pregnant women.

How To Heal Cavities Naturally

The world is slowly waking up to the fact that, when you give the body what it needs, it can heal things we previously thought were impossible. A fine example of what is often deemed as an incurable health problem is dental cavities, but extensive research is now becoming more public about the true nature of tooth decay and the fact that there are proven remedies that can remedy it.

The lies perpetrated about tooth decay

According to the American Dental Association, the reason we have tooth decay is as follows:
“[Tooth decay] occurs when foods containing carbohydrates (sugars and starches) such as milk, pop, raisins, cakes or candy are frequently left on the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth thrive on these foods, producing acids as a result. Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay.”
There are a few problems with this theory, including:
• Groups of indigenous people who had fermentable carbohydrates stuck on their teeth all the time that did not brush or floss were mostly or completely free of tooth decay.
• Bacteria do not consume processed sugar or flour because of the lack of nutrients in them.
• Foods that bacteria like to eat, such as milk, vegetables, meat, fish and fruit, are not commonly implicated in causes of tooth decay.
So if the modern explanation of tooth decay is not accurate, what is actually the cause of tooth decay?

What actually causes tooth decay

Tooth decay, as researched by Dr. Weston Price and other dental pioneers, boiled down to three factors:
• Not enough minerals in the diet.
• Not enough fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) in the diet.
• Nutrients not being readily bioavailable, and your intestinal system not properly absorbing them. The presence of phytic acid largely influences this factor.
Over a period of time, if your diet lacks vitamins and minerals from a poor diet and/or contains high levels of phytates (from grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes), the blood chemistry and the ratio of calcium and phosphorous become out of balance, which results in minerals being pulled from bones, causing tooth and bone loss.
So, the long-standing belief that sugar causes tooth decay is true, but as a result of it depleting nutrients from the body, not because bacteria eat it and produce acid that ruins your teeth.

The food remedies that can heal cavities and tooth decay

In order to restore the ratio of calcium and phosphorus in our blood, and to enable minerals to bond to our teeth, it is not enough to just avoid eating too many sweet or processed foods. We must also eat health-building foods, containing copious amounts of minerals and vitamins that will build a glassy hard tooth structure.
Foods to focus on are:
• Coconut oil, grass-fed organic dairy (especially butter), grass-fed meats, seafood and bone broths.
• Organic cooked vegetables (soups with bone broth are ideal).
• Organ and gland meats, like liver.

Limit foods that are high in phytic acid, like grains, beans, nuts and seeds, as well as limiting processed food intake full of processed flours and sugars that upset blood sugar balance.
Supplements to consider are:
• Fermented cod liver oil – very high in fat soluble vitamins A, D and K.
• Magnesium – required to use calcium and phosphorous effectively.
• Gelatin – if you don’t have time to make bone broth, this is a good alternative and is great for gums and digestion.
